The University of Arizona is a premier public research university in the United States, located in Tucson, Arizona. It’s an excellent place for high-impact research. Many life science-related departments exist on campus, including the Molecular and Cellular Biology department (home to the Buchan lab), fostering a strong culture of collaboration and openness throughout the campus. Core facilities are robust. Additionally, numerous seminar series and retreat events ensure consistent exposure to world-renowned researchers and provide networking/collaboration opportunities. Tucson is an affordable, mid-size city that boasts a fantastic climate, food scene, and outdoor activity options. It is culturally diverse and family-friendly. Surrounded by four mountain ranges within the Sonoran Desert, Tucson is beautiful and rich in fascinating biology.
